Timeless Classics 3-Pack
The perfect gift for the wine lover in your life (even if that wine lover is you!). We've worked together with Piedmont Wine Imports, our favorite local importer and distributor, to put together this three-pack of ageless classic bottles - a Barolo, a Brut Spumante, and a Chianti Classico Riserva - that are guaranteed to brighten your holiday season.
Each three-pack includes one bottle each of:
The Azelia Barolo DOCG "Margheria" (2015)
From the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, this wine is produced by fifth-generation, practicing organic vintners from a single vineyard of 50 year-old vines. The "Margheria" is one of three single-vineyard Barolos produced by Azelia, but it is the most approachable for enjoying now. The "Margheria" is a classic big and dry Barolo, with earthy notes of tar and leather balanced by dark red fruits and appealing acidity. Enjoy it with a standing rib roast, lamb chops, or a hearty beef stew.
The La Casaccia Metodo Classico Brut Spumante (2015)
Also hailing from the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, this delightful bubbly is grown by the Rava family on a certified organic estate where the underground cellar is entirely carved into sedimentary “Pietra da Cantoni” stone. Italian sparkling wine has yet to gather the acclaim of traditional French Champagne, but this Brut Spumante is made in exactly the same classic method with Chardonnay grapes and ambient yeast. This is the perfect bottle to get you hooked on Italian bubbly, and it is ideal for your New Year's Eve celebration (even if that just means you and your cat socially distancing responsibly).
The Caparsa Caparsino Chianti Classico Riserva (2015)
From arguably Italy's most famous wine region, the Chianti zone of Tuscany in Southern Italy, this bottle exemplifies the pinnacle of a classic done right. Made by a perennial Panciuto favorite, the one-man estate of Paolo Cianferoni at Caparsa, it is certified organic using Old Vine Sangiovese and all indigenous yeast. When you're looking for a truly classic Italian wine made incredibly well, look no further than this one. Tuck it away for your next spaghetti and meatballs night or crack it open on Christmas Eve with your roast lamb or standing rib roast.
